How To Grow Univera Like A Farmer

Question: What do farmers know?

Leverage is an extremely powerful tool. Used correctly, it can accomplish some pretty amazing things. Used incorrectly, it can also be amazingly destructive.

I was considering the power of leverage the other day while I was out walking out on my father's farm. I live in southern Iowa, and my father has a small farming operation, in which he raises some cattle and grows some corn.

Now, farming isn't my cup of tea, but it's interesting to observe a farm as a mini "business environment". It's a great place to view the concept of leverage in action.

You see, the farmer is paid when he distributes his crops or his animals to the marketplace. He raises his crops from seed. He raises his animals from babies.

The really cool thing about a farmer is that the farmer has to put the work in up front, and then...mother nature steps in.

And once mother nature steps in...something amazing happens. What the farmer started, the laws of nature step in and completes the work.

For example, the farmer plants the seed.  Then, once the seed is planted, the environment supplies the water.  The nutrients in the soil nourish the seed.  As time passes, the seed grows, and then...the farmer gets a crop.  Same thing with cattle, or chickens, or whatever.

What the farmer has done is harness the power of nature to leverage his effort.  And that is the exact same thing that every business attempts to do.

For most of us in MLM or networking businesses, the idea of leveraging our time and effort is one of the key draws to that kind of business.  Having other forces working beneath us to aid in the growth in our business.

But in order to do that, we have to have a good combo of business builders and product users.  But which is more important?  Where should our recruiting efforts be focused?

I actually wrote an article on this subject some time ago.  I put it in the toolbox, you can check it out at:

The magnitude of leverage is intense...use it.
